November 2011 campaign of the month

A
cknowledgments

I have many people, books, movies, shows, video games, stories, and hundreds of other random works of adventure, fantasy, and epic creativity that have inspired me in my creation of the avatar campaign and deserve recognition for their help, work, and ideas. Many images are results of random image searches online, or are pictures I’ve collected over the years. Most of the images are fair or free use, but a few may not be. I do not know the owners of the majority of these images. If you see your image used here and wish a credit on this page, let me know! If you wish for me to remove it, send me a message through Obsidian Portal or email at dan_badour_07@hotmail.com and I will remove your image. Nothing here is for profit, but instead for other people to enjoy the setting as much as I have, and for the imaginative pleasure of those who play the campaign. Many of the images are wonderful pieces of art and i would love nothing more than to give credit when it is do; so if you see your art on this sight message me and i will credit you for your work. :)

First i would like to make a disclaimer for all Avatar: the Last Airbender pictures used in this campaign.

Disclaimer:
AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER and all related titles, logos and characters are ™ and © of Viacom International Inc. 2005–2008. All Rights Reserved. Original Presentation 2005–2008 Nickelodeon.

These images are all screenshots of The Last Airbender, a copyrighted © motion picture. As such, the copyright for them is most likely owned by the company or corporation that produced them. Though this image is subject to copyright, it is believed that its use qualifies as Fair use under U.S. fair use laws because:

  • This disclaimer provides attribution to the copyright holder.
  • The image is only being used as the primary means of visual identification of the subject and for informational purposes.
  • As a screenshot, the image is not replaceable by free content; any other image of the work would also be copyrighted, and any version that is not true to the original would be inadequate for identification or critical commentary.
  • The image is significant in illustrating the subject of the article, facilitating critical commentary as it provides an immediate relevance to the reader more capably than the textual description alone.
  • The image is of sufficient resolution for commentary and identification but lower resolution than the original. Copies made from it will be unsuitable as artwork on counterfeit goods or other uses that would compete with the commercial purpose of the original work.
  • The use of the image does not in any way affect the value of the original work or limit the copyright holder’s rights or ability to market or sell their product.
  • Avatar The Last Airbender and all references to it are owned by Nickelodeon, a subsidiary of Viacom. All rights are recognised and no profit is being made by our activities.

If you are the copyright holder of this image and you feel that its use here does not fall under “fair use,” please contact me at my email and i will be more than happy to either give more in depth credit to the image in question, or remove it at your bequest. My email is dan_badour_07@hotmail.com. We do not make any money from these concepts or our activities, and are using these ideas, pictures and so forth just for our own fun. Thank you.

Next i would like to acknowledge Wizards of the Coast. If it weren’t for being introduced to Dungeons and Dragons then i would never have been introduced to the impossibly imaginative and creative fantasy world that is the d20 system. Recently i have also found great inspiration from the Legend of the Five Rings setting.

Next i would like to thank the creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender. This show has sparked my imagination and that of the friends i play with more than nearly any other fantasy world i have been introduced to. The stunning imagery, depth of story and characters, epic music and graphics, genius humor, eastern philosophy, Buddhist wisdom, political intrigue, character development, beautiful love story, and stunning battle sequences were some of the most adrenaline pumping, spirit lifting, knee slapping, heart pounding moments of my T.V. watching existence and will forever stand as one of the greatest fantasy worlds in existence as far as i am concerned. This universe that you created has served as one of the most exiting and thrilling worlds to adventure through and has made for a wonderful RPG experience.

The Last Airbender and all references to it are owned by Nickelodeon, a subsidiary of Viacom. All rights are recognised and no profit is being made by our activities.

I must next acknowledge the Avatar: The Last Airbender Wikia, as it has been the source of massive amounts of Avtar lore to use for my campaign and wiki pages =))))

Next i want to acknowledge Lord Tataraus for publishing and posting the Avatar d20 system which can be found here: http://sites.google.com/site/avatard20/home. Also i found that the link to the PDF on that web page is broken so here is another link to the PDF: Avatar d20 PDF All content is protected under the Open Gaming License of Fair Use.

Also i want to thank Bioware and the Dragon Age team as i have recently been heavily inspired by much of the Dragon Age Lore in the creation of my campaign. Also Guild Wars at ArenaNet, a wonderful game and source of some of the best art i have seen. I’ve been playing guild wars since it came out and as a die hard fan have also been heavily influenced by some of their Lore in making parts of this campaign. Thank you and can’t wait for Guild Wars 2 and Dragon Age 3!!

Last i would like to thank Obsidian Portal for giving us access to such a wonderful site that allows for so much deeper RPG experience, as well as members who have really helped and inspired me in making this campaign and campaign site.

Members gnunn, gaaran, DarkMagus, Race Cidraen, Alatheon, killervp, StephenWollet, Duskreign, and especially arsheesh have helped a great deal in the making of this site and heping me with tips, questions, and forums. Arsheesh deserves special recognition for being so helpful in the creation of my site by answering any questions i have thoroughly, as well as his campaigns Age of Legends and Tales of Darkmoon Vale which not only provided great inspiration as two of the highest quality campaigns i have ever seen, but also is the source of much of the code used on my own site.

Thank you all so much!!!! I would also like to thank my players who have been the greatest source of fun of any hobby i could ever hope for and their friendship means a great deal to me. I know they and myself look forward to the progression of this campaign adventure =]
